SUMMARY:Sonic Arguments—at Buzz Coffee Roaster
DESCRIPTION:NEXUS Chamber Music Chicago is planning first-class musical events in unconventional venues in and around Chicago\, deconstructing the traditional barrier between audience and performer. Their first summer 2018 performance will take place at the ever-popular Buzz Coffee Roaster cafe. The audience will enjoy a virtuosic program of masterpieces for violin and cello duo performed by the two NEXUS Co-Artistic Directors. \nThe same program will be repeated on Wednesday\, August 22 at the Whiner Beer Company taproom and on Friday\, August 24 in Guarneri Hall. \nNEXUS is a collective of emerging musical artists from around the world who are committed to introducing great chamber music to new audiences. \nConcert Program:\nHenning Kraggerud: Variation Suite for Violin and Cello \nMaurice Ravel: Sonata for Violin and Cello \nIannis Xenakis: Dhipli Zyia \nZoltán Kodály: Duo for Violin and Cello\, Op. 7 \nMusicians: Brian Hong\, violin; Alexander Hersh\, cello \nRead musicians’ bios \nThis event is co-sponsored by Buzz Coffee Roaster.
