Message from the Artistic Director: COVID-19 Response

Dear Friends,

Like you, we at Guarneri Hall NFP are monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic with concern. In the interest of public safety, and consistent with the recommendations of the CDC, our board of directors has decided to suspend all performance and production activities through April 30, 2020. However, we will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you posted via email and our website should anything change.

If you have tickets for an upcoming cancelled event and would like a refund or ticket credit for a future event, please send us a message. If you are able to turn your tickets into a tax-deductible contribution to Guarneri Hall, we would be most grateful; just let us know in your message and we will send you a tax letter for your records.

In the meantime, we will keep the music going for you by rebroadcasting selected live streams of recent Guarneri Hall concerts, so please stay tuned right here at guarnerihall.org. Additionally, we will continue post-production work on our concert videos and hope to secure sponsors so we can release them for you as soon they are completed.

Now more than ever, music has a crucial role to play in our lives so we are determined to continue sharing wonderful music and artists with you—virtually—during this difficult time.

Please stay safe, enjoy the music, and we look forward to continuing our concert season as soon as we are able.

Stefan Hersh brings a unique confluence of skills to his role in launching the Guarneri Hall not-for-profit: As a violinist he has held key positions in major orchestras such as the Minnesota Orchestra and the Vancouver Symphony. As a chamber musician he has performed nationally as a member of the Callisto Ensemble, the Chicago String Quartet and at numerous music festivals. As a pedagogue he has served as Associate Professor of violin at DePaul and Roosevelt Universities and has given master classes throughout the United States. He is a founding partner of Darnton & Hersh Fine Violins in Chicago.

Guarneri Hall is located in Chicago’s Loop, near Symphony Center and the Art Institute of Chicago. Convenient paid garage parking is available east of the building at 17 East Adams. We are close to numerous bus and train routes; CTA Red and Blue Lines stop nearby at Jackson while Purple, Brown, Green, Orange, and Pink Lines are steps away at Adams and Wabash.
