Hosted by musicologist, classical radio host, and Guarneri Hall’s Communications Director, Kylie Harwell, The Green Room podcast will kick off with day-to-day coverage of the prestigious 2020 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. The Fischoff organizers have responded to this year’s unique challenges by undertaking to move the entire competition online.
This episode of The Green Room includes interviews with the Artistic Director, one juror, and our returning contestants from The Quantum Clarinet Trio and violinist from the Balourdet String Quartet. We take a brief look at Joe Fischoff’s legacy and the continuing journey of our musicians. Guests include:
- Artistic Director of the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition for over 40 years, Tom Rosenberg
- Juror and violinist of the Fry Street Quartet, Rebecca McFaul
- Clarinetist Elena Veronesi and cellist Johannes Przygodda of the Quantum Clarinet Trio (Paris, France)
- Violinist Angela Bae of the Balourdet String Quartet (Houston, Texas)
Two more Green Room episodes covering the 2020 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition will be released Saturday, May 9th.
