Chelsea Wang, Pianist

Chelsea Wang, praised by The New York Times as an “excellent young pianist,” is an award-winning soloist, chamber musician, and educator. She has performed in notable venues like Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Konzerthaus Berlin, Seoul Arts Center, and Taipei National Concert Hall. A prizewinner in national and international competitions, she has received special awards at the Seoul International Piano Competition, the Washington International Piano Competition, and the New York International Piano Competition. 

Ms. Wang made her orchestral debut at age six and has since collaborated with the Fort Worth Symphony, Des Moines Symphony, New Orleans Civic Symphony, as well as musicians from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and New York Philharmonic. She has appeared at festivals including Music@Menlo, Ravinia Steans Institute, Bravo! Vail, Tippet Rise, and Hong Kong’s Intimacy of Creativity Festival. She has performed as guest artist with Manhattan Chamber Players, Buffalo Chamber Music Society, and Chamber Music Society of Palm Beach.

A passionate educator, Ms. Wang serves on the faculty of the Music@Menlo Chamber Music Institute’s Young Performers Program and has led numerous interactive performances in schools and community venues throughout New York City and across the United States. 

Ms. Wang holds degrees from the Curtis Institute of Music, where she was awarded the Rachmaninoff Prize upon graduation, and Peabody Conservatory, where she was one of the last students of Leon Fleisher. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Northwestern University. Ms. Wang is one of the newest members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s Bowers Program (2027-2030).
