Take a break from Chicago winter and catch an early glimpse of spring at Guarneri Hall as the dazzling soprano Lucy Fitz Gibbon performs two floral-themed songs of Schubert – Viola (“Violet”) and Vergissmeinnicht (“Forget-Me-Not”). Fitz Gibbon also performs a new work by former CSO Composer-in-Residence Elizabeth Ogonek, based on two texts by Virginia Woolf. The evening closes with Schubert’s sublime Fantasia in F minor for four hands at the piano.
Note: The same program will be performed on January 13.
