Sopranos Kristina Bachrach and Laura Strickling will be joined by pianists Daniel Schlosberg and Scott Wheeler in a benefit concert for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, organized by Music for Food. The program of contemporary American vocal music includes a world premiere by Scott Wheeler, based on Suzanne Cleary’s meditation on food and hunger, “A Piece of Bread.” Admission is free with a suggested donation, RSVP required on the organizers’ Eventbrite page. Donations to the Chicago Food Depository can be made here.
