The critically acclaimed Dover Quartet launches the Nova Linea Musica season with newly composed chamber works by GRAMMY winners Jessie Montgomery and Mason Bates along with Pulitzer Prize winning George Walker. As a tribute to our “Celebration of America,” what better work to perform than Antonín Dvořák’s American Quartet to champion the old while ringing in this new and dynamic generation!
Program
Jessie Montgomery: Strum
Mason Bates: From Amber Frozen
George Walker: String Quartet No. 1, Mvt. II, Molto adagio
Antonin Dvorak: Quartet No. 12 in F, Op.96 (“American”)

The Dover Quartet appears by arrangement with the Curtis Institute of Music, where it serves as the Penelope P. Watkins Ensemble in Residence.
