The celebrated Borromeo String Quartet returns to Guarneri Hall, following on their revelatory dive into the compositional origins of Bartók’s cycle of string quartets in 2023. This season, they bring us the towering and transcendent late string quartets of Ludwig van Beethoven in our Beethoven Immortal series, presented over the course of two evenings.
The Borromeo’s first violinist Nicholas Kitchen will complement each performance with unique insights that bring the emotional complexity of these works to life, sharing his extensive research into the unusual dynamic and expressive markings found in the manuscripts of Beethoven’s middle and later works.
