This unique pair of evenings will provide fascinating context for Pierrot lunaire with in-depth perspectives on the literary and theatrical histories of the Pierrot character, culminating in a performance of Pierrot lunaire by soprano Kristina Bachrach and NEXUS Chamber Music. Evening 2 features a semi-staged theatrical performance of Pierrot lunaire directed by Jim Iorio.

Proust's Salon: Tracing the Spiral of Time with Adam Nieman revisits a deeply personal notion of time with music of Fauré, Schmitt, and Koechlin that might easily have been heard at one of the salon events that Proust and his circle of artists favored.

On this season’s marquee is a screening of Keaton’s classic silent film The General with Stephen Prutsman’s original score, played live by Prutsman and members of NEXUS Chamber Music.
