Geneva Lewis Awarded Avery Fisher Career Grant

Violinist and Guarneri Hall Affiliate Artist Geneva Lewis is one of five artists awarded the 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant. Lewis was the winner of the Concert Artist Guild’s 2020 Victor Elmaleh Competition. She currently studies at the New England Conservatory as a student of Miriam Fried.

The other four 2021 winners are violinist Kevin Zhu, cellists Sterling Elliot and Oliver Herbert, and pianist Eric Lu.

The highly coveted Avery Fisher Career Grants have been awarded to talented young musicians since 1976. Past recipients include Joshua Bell, Sarah Chang, Hilary Hahn, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Gil Shaham, and many others.
