The Firebird is a ballet and orchestral work by Russian composer Igor Stravinsky. The work tells the fairy tale of the Firebird and the blessing and curse that it brings to its owner. The piece was first performed at the Paris Opera in June 1910 and was an immediate success, remaining one of Stravinsky’s most well-regarded symphonic works.
This arrangement for string chamber ensemble by Cliff Colnot features two pieces from the 1919 version of the Firebird suite: Berceuse and Infernal Dance.
