Wednesday, April 22 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm CDT

Celebrated for their imaginative programming and powerhouse performances, the Iris Trio (clarinetist Christine Carter, violist Zoë Martin-Doike, and pianist Anna Petrova) bring their critically acclaimed program, Project Earth, to Guarneri Hall.
Project Earth celebrates the natural world through chamber music and poetry, giving center stage to the immense beauty and wonder found in nature while illuminating the impact of human activity on the environment. Conceived in two parts—The Blue Chapter and The Green Chapter—Project Earth seeks to inspire a shared sense of value and responsibility to create meaningful change.
Program
The Iris Trio will present a unique program each evening at Guarneri Hall, bringing together different selections from The Blue Chapter and The Green Chapter (expand details below):
Project Earth: The Blue Chapter
The Blue Chapter takes its inspiration from the natural beauty found in Newfoundland and Labrador, featuring three original compositions by Juno Award-winning composer and jazz pianist Florian Hoefner, with original poetry written by Griffin Prize-winning poet Don McKay.
Project Earth: The Green Chapter
The Green Chapter delves deeper into the interconnected stories of nature and humanity, with powerful new commissions by Juno Award-winning musicians Sarah Slean and Andrew Downing paired with original poetry by Griffin Prize-winning poet Karen Solie.
