Tuesday, May 4, 2027 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm CDT
Threshold Acoustics—the team of wizards behind the design of Guarneri Hall—have an almost uncanny understanding of how our ears process sound, and how the shape, materials, and finish of every surface in a room can transform what we hear. In a well-designed acoustic space, every aspect of room geometry, materials and composition work together to optimize the sound of the room.
For Sound Lab, Threshold Partner Carl Giegold and Senior Consultant Marcus Mayell will explain the principles of acoustic design that went into the making of Guarneri Hall. Members of NEXUS Chamber Music and their guests will complement the discussion with musical selections that will demonstrate how these forces work to perfection in our space.
By the end, we hope your ears will be forever opened!
