Guarneri Hall is delighted to welcome NEXUS Chamber Music Chicago back to the Hall for its second season. With four concerts planned August 28th through September 6th, 2019, NEXUS co-artistic directors Brian Hong and Alexander Hersh have programmed a wide variety of chamber works, from standard classics to lesser-known pieces that justly deserve a place in the canon. The first concert is entitled "Call of the Birds" and features music by Haydn, Takemitsu, Fauré, Messiaen, and Schuman.Find out more »
The second concert in the 2019 NEXUS Chamber Music Chicago series is entitled "Signs, Games, and Messages." Featured are works by Dvořák, Kurtág, Prokofiev, and Brahms.Find out more »
NEXUS' third concert is entitled "Folk Songs in Counterpoint." It includes a string quartet by Florence Price, who lived in Chicago and rose to the highest echelon of American composers during the first half of the 20th century.Find out more »
