NEXUS Chamber Music Chicago at Guarneri Hall

Guarneri Hall is pleased to serve as the home base for NEXUS Chamber Music Chicago, an exciting new project launched by two rising talents: violinist Brian Hong and cellist Alexander Hersh.

The NEXUS summer chamber music series will bring world-class artists to diverse, sometimes unexpected venues in Chicago to serve as musical ambassadors and expand accessibility to great chamber music. In addition, many of the NEXUS performances will be live-streamed in high definition to bring listeners from all over the world into the intimate settings and interactive format.

NEXUS Chamber Music Chicago logoNEXUS plans to offer a variety of concert types including solo, duo, and chamber music recitals. The two young artistic directors aim to promote artist-audience interactivity in a departure from the passive nature of traditional concert-going. The contact between audience members and performers is designed to foster musical interest for young people in the communities they perform in while making a broader, contemporary case for the role of great chamber music in the community. Over time, the festival will expand its roster of artists and number of events.

The NEXUS Chamber Music Chicago series is an outgrowth of Guarneri Hall’s mission to incubate interesting new musical organizations.

More information about the NEXUS performances can be found on our Events page. Tickets may be purchased on this website starting July 1.
